Big Weekend

Big Weekend Covid safe implementations

Hi everyone, just checking in with you all with an update following the latest government announcement.

We are very confident that the new proposed date for the lifting of Covid restrictions on July 19th still gives us plenty of time to safely go ahead with the Big Weekend in August.

Although in theory this date will mark the end of all restrictions, we are very aware that we are facing challenges with the new Covid Delta variant. In light of this we want to make sure we make our festival as safe for all attending as we possibly can.

We would encourage everyone attending The Big Weekend to take a lateral flow Covid test before travelling to the festival. We will have free test packs available on site for those who are unable to take the test beforehand. All our staff and stewards will take a test prior to the event and we will be operating a voluntary track and trace system.
Although none of this will be compulsory, we do hope all attendees will follow this guidance for everyone’s safety and peace of mind.  DOWNLOAD:  Your step-by-step guide for COVID-19 self-testing instructions

Our festival bar will also encourage a one glass per person policy for the weekend to reduce transmissibility. We are having special bespoke glasses printed with the Big Weekend logo and a blank name tag space for individuals to write in their name. These will be sold at £2 each. We hope they will be kept as an attractive and re-usable festival souvenir, alternatively they can then be returned and the £2 refunded.

The wearing of face masks will not be compulsory for attendees, although our staff and stewards will wear a face covering at all times while on duty.
We ask everyone to be aware of others personal space throughout the weekend, especially on the dance floor. We encourage folks to keep within dance partner bubbles where possible.

Hand sanitizer stations will be situated at all public areas in and around the festival site, all surfaces will be regularly cleaned throughout the day and the Parish Hall will be deep cleaned after all evening events.

We really want to make this a fabulous and joyful event for everyone, also for festival goers to feel safe, secure and reassured throughout their visit.
We look forward to seeing everyone and sharing an amazing weekend of music and dancing at the Big Weekend 2021!
